It all happened during the holy month of Ramadan on the night of April 13. A squad of brutal Israeli police officers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, brushed the Palestinians aside and strode across the limestone courtyard. This was the when many innocents were praying inside the mosque. Israeli police had entered inside the mosque and cut the cables to the loudspeakers that broadcast prayers to the faithful from four medieval minarets.
April 13 was also Memorial Day in Israel, which honors those who died fighting for their country. Moreover, the Israeli president ‘Reuven Rivlin’ was delivering a speech at the Western Wall, a sacred Jewish site that lies below the Al Aqsa mosque, and Israeli officials were scared that the prayers would drown it out.
Moreover, this incident was confirmed by the mosque officials, six of them who confirmed the incident and three of whom witnessed it; the Israeli police declined to speak. And in many portals, it barely registered.
This was the real scenario, the police raid on the Al-Aqsa mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam, was one of several actions that led, less than a month of ramadan, to the sudden resumption of war between Israel and Hamas.
People on Social Media Raise Their Voice For Palestine
Earlier, this week, many Influencers on Instagram posted about Palestine. And after watching tears of a 10-year-old girl named Nadine Abdel-Taif, social media points at the situation behind her and others and is explaining to everyone what the mindless violence perpetrated by the Israelis in Palestine has done. Below is a video that is now going viral, the young girl breaks down telling the world how innocent children have to bear the pressure of it all.
The video was originally captured by ‘Middle East Eye’. Being at the tender age of 10, the girl feels helpless as she cannot do anything about the destruction caused by the Israeli missiles in Gaza.
This gut-wrenching uploaded video has been shared on all social media platforms. It is bound to bring tears to your eyes and make you think again what’s really happening over there.
Artist, Vasco Gargalo illustrates in just one image what’s going on in Palestine.
Playback singer, Rayna Zamel posted yesterday “These are the people getting bombed by Israel “until they burn and there’s complete quiet’” (the words of Israel’s defense minister one day before the bombings) in the world’s biggest open-prison and one of the most densely populated areas on earth.”
Journalist ‘Ayesha Binte Rashid’, AKA ‘Balancingbinte’ posted “I’d say this is for the Palestinian children, but it’s really not. What is this going to do for them? This is just a desperate need to express myself, a selfish prayer that the suffering would end just so I can sleep again at night.”
The violence happening in Israel and Palestine is still going on. Moreover, the destruction on the Palestinian side, is massive as compared to Israel. Millions of users on the internet are rallying with Palestine and doing their bit to send help to them.
