The Polo had been a great seller for the German manufacturers when it was first launched in 2009. Moreover, the Volkswagen might introduce the all-new Polo based on MQB AO platform in India in 2020 and that vehicle would get more premium features equipped. The Volkswagen Polo had also completed its 10th year anniversary and the Stephen Knapp, the Director of the Volkswagen India, said that ‘the Polo is a supreme product and it is based on the MQB platform which you know we are going to launch the MQB A0 IN platform in India pretty soon. Moreover, Polo is a car for India and it’s developed to be a car for India.”

Dimensions of the 2020 Volkswagen Polo

The new Polo will be bigger in dimensions than the current one. It will also add loads of features to give competition to its rivals such as the Toyota Glanza. And for the starters, the new Polo is 4,053 mm in length and wheelbase adds to 53 mm while the ongoing model is just 3,971 mm in length and measures 2,469 mm in wheelbase, says CarBlog.

Moreover, with the increase in its wheelbase, the cabin space is also expected to grow and make it roomier. Also the boot space is also grown from 280 litres to 351 litres in total. Also, the length of the India based Polo would be kept short so as to comply with the sub-4-metre length category.

Features of the 2020 Volkswagen Polo

The car includes the large touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like the Apple CarPlay and the Android Auto. Moreover, the virtual cockpit won’t be there on the India based model as it’ll make the vehicle more costlier.

Safety-wise, the car includes dual front airbags as standard across all the trims, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution, high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminders is expected to come as standard across all trims. Moreover, the front parking sensors and availability of more airbags are expected with the 2020 edition Polo.

The new gen Volkswagen Polo would start from around Rs. 5.55L in India.
