2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Overview

Finally the Porsche Cayenne Coupe has launched in India. Moreover, the company has introduced two variants of this model-

  1. The Standard Variant
  2. The Turbo Variant

The Cayenne Coupe comes to India as a completely build unit (CBU) and gets Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) which extends the spoiler by 135 mm at speeds of more than 90kmph, this increases the contact pressure on the rear axle and enhances efficiency of the PAA simultaneously. Moreover, the car competes against the likes of the Mercedes GLE and the BMW X6.

Porsche has done an absolutely good job with the design of the Cayenne Coupe. Most of the car manufacturers aren’t able to give their Coupe SUV the best design. Moreover, Porsche also offers different alloy design for the 20-inch wheels.

Until you reach the rear side of the car, it looks more like a regular SUV. The Cayenne Coupe gets a roofline which is 20mm lower than the standard SUV also gets a shallower A-pillar, emphasizing the sloping roofline. As compared to the standard version of the Porsche Cayenne, the coupe version is 18mm wider than the standard version. Talking about the roof concept on the Cayenne Coupe, you’ll get two options for the roof-

  • A panoramic glass roof as standard
  • An optional carbon fiber roof.

The interior of the Cayenne Coupe has taken inspiration from the standard Cayenne which includes the analog clock on the dashboard. While, the dashboard of the Cayenne Coupe is dominated by a large infotainment screen. Moreover, the center console has also been completely redesigned and now it also comes with a haptic touch control surface. The instrument cluster also gets a typical analog tachometer with two HD screens on either sides.

2019 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Features

The Cayenne Coupe includes features such as-

  • The Porsche connect app
  • Beautiful analog clock
  • Adaptive air suspension
  • Bose/Burmester sound system
  • Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
  • Rear axle steering
  • And Porsche Traction Management (PTM), among others. Rivalling the Cayenne Coupe are in India are the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe Powertrain

The base model Cayenne Coupe is powered by a six-cylinder 3.0-litre turbocharged engine which develops over 40PS and 450Nm of torque. In just a matter of six seconds, it pushes the car from 0-100 kph and has a top-speed of 243 kph. However, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo is powered by a eight-cylinder 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged engine which produces over 550PS and 770Nm of torque. With the V8 engine, the Cayenne Coupe can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 286 kmph. Both the engines in the base and turbo model come paired up with an 8-speed automatic gearbox which is not a Porsche Doppel Kupplungs unit. We also expect the top-spec V8 PHEV powertrain equipped Cayenne Turbo S e-Hybrid Coupe with the 680hp to be introduced soon.

Porsche has launched the Cayenne Coupe in India with two variants-

  • The standard variant, which costs for INR. 1.31 crores in India
  • And the turbo variant, which costs for INR. 1.97 crores in India
