Kia Seltos Overview
This Seltos has a sleek design. From the front, this car is really strong and aggressive and comes with flattish looking bonnet. The 3d-diamond like grill plays with lights and you got the necessary bling with the chrome strips that runs across. All the materials in this car looks really great in quality. You’ve got the headlights where you get the typical heartbeat DRL’s and ice-cube fog-lamps right in the front and an air-dam and of-course skid-plates.
This car definitely gives a real-feeling of an SUV vehicle. On the left side of the vehicle, it’s got a square of wheel arches and a beautiful pair of alloys along with 215/60 r17 tyres. The space between wheels of this car is quite large and let’s assume that this car opens up decent amount of space in the inside.
On the top, you get to see a sloping roof-line necessary bling again with the chrome strip across chrome handles.
On the rear, you get to see a shark-fin and spoiler and the rear looks really wide. The tail lamps sort of extends out into the side. You also get to see a chrome strip that runs across giving it additional width as well and again you get to see a typical heartbeat in the tail-lamp.
T-GDI in Kia Seltos
The T-GDI stands for the 1.4L Turbo-Gaseline Direct Injection engine. You are getting T-GDI in the Kia Seltos which is definitely going to compete with a 7-speed DCT(Dual-Clutch Transmission) automatic transmission. Moreover, in automatic transmissions, they have three different kinds of automatic transmissions. You get a DCT, CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) which Kia likes to call as IBT and a torque converter.
Apart from this 1.4L turbo petrol engine that you will get, you will also get a 1.5L diesel and a 1.5L petrol engine; both mated with automatic and manual transmission options.
Kia Seltos 1.4 Liter T-GDI Specs:
The 1.4L, turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine is the most powerful being offered in the Seltos. This engine produces 140 bhp and 242 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard but also you’ll get the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. With the T-GDI engine, the Seltos can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 9.7 seconds. However, its a little low on fuel efficiency, achieving 16.5kmpl with the automatic and 16.1kmpl with the manual gearbox.
Kia Seltos 1.5 Liter Petrol Specs:
The 1.5L petrol engine in the Seltos puts out 115 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque. Like the 1.4L, turbocharged engine, this engine too comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox but the option of the automatic is a different one. Moreover, his engine can be had with a CVT gearbox. This is the least powerful engine for the Seltos and as a result the 0-100 kph dash is also the slowest at 11.8 seconds. However, its mildly more fuel efficient than the other petrol engine, achieving 16.8kmpl with the automatic and 16.5kmpl with the manual gearbox.
Kia Seltos 1.5 Liter Diesel Specs:
Apart from the engines that we’d discussed above, the Seltos also comes with a sole diesel engine. The 1.5 liter oil burner produces a whopping 115 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque, which is also the torqueist engine of the lot. Like the other two engines, this too comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and gets a 6-speed torque converter for the automatic. Moreover, the 0-100 kph sprint comes up in 11.5 seconds but it is the most fuel efficient of the lot. It returns 18.0kmpl with the automatic and 21.0kmpl with the manual gearbox.
