Driving an electric vehicle feels really good! The Nissan has launched its new car, but not in India. The Nissan Leaf is a really compact car that just pops out more happiness from the hearts of it's owners. Moreover, the Nissan Leaf competes with the likes of Tesla Model 3, Renault Zoe, Hyundai kona, Chevy Bolt, egolf, etc.

This facelift vehicle was first introduced in Tokyo on September 6, 2017. Now, the 2019 Model has derived with many new modifications; let's discuss more about the car.

Nissan Leaf First Drive Review

The car's 40 kWh battery can take the Nissan Leaf up to 400 km on a single charge. This means that one time full-charge is enough for going to a short-trip. Moreover, with a power output of 148 bhp and a torque of 320 Nm- the car hits 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds. Charging time is from 8 hours to 16 hours depending on the power capacity and the Leaf also get quick charging feature which can give 80 per cent battery time in 40 minutes. Tesla Model 3, with two battery options of 50 kWh and 75 kWh, has a claimed range of around 350kms-500kms on a single charge; which is pretty awesome too.

Driving the leaf in traffic is pretty relaxing. You got a nice blend of torque. But, driving the leaf in eco-mode in traffic is bit irritating. But, once the traffic thins out, the eco is quite usable.

Apart from the eco and power mode, you also get another option of e-Pedal mode along. Switching to e-Pedal mode will help you conserve more energy. It helps you to regenerate the energy back into the battery via the motors. The e-Pedal helps you drive with just single foot(right foot), once you lift off your foot; the car immediately slows down and breaks for you. Isn't this cool?

Nissan Leaf Interior

In the interior, you get to see a steering with flat bottom. Moreover, you get a screen which gives you information on the range, eco-driving mode, power mode and e-Pedal mode. Nissan is yet to finalize the trims and features of the India spec-car. You get 6-airbags, abs, bose-sound system, electronic-climate control, electric-seat adjustment, leather seats and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

First up, a lot has been done to make this car stand out to a conventional car. The headlights floats neatly into what looks like a grill; but actually it isn't. On the left, the car gets a floating roof in a blacked out rear section which makes this a perfect driving car.

Now in its second gen, the 2019 Nissan Leaf boasts of an improved aerodynamic design that has also improved the driving dynamics of the car. Moreover, in turn allowing the popular electric vehicle to cover more distance on a single charge. Also the new design has made the car more aerodynamic, which in return improves the stability of the car. That's cool.
