2019 BMW 3 Series Overview
The BMW took wraps off the new-gen 3 Series at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The G20 3 Series takes its inspiration from the resurrected 8 and comes with many modern day new features while retaining its characteristic driving dynamics. Moreover, the new 3 Series is a lot better looking compared to the F30 model it replaces.
The G20 BMW 3 Series is based on the automaker's CLAR architecture that also resembles the BMW 7 and the 5 Series models. The new platform has opened the sedan in proportions and the model is now 76 mm longer with the wheelbase 41 mm longer as well than its predecessor. The new generation 3 Series is also a lot more athletic with a weight reduction of 55 kg, and a has a drag coefficient of just 0.23 cd. The torsional rigidity has also gone up by 25 per cent and up to 50 per cent in certain places.
In terms of appearance, the 2019 BMW 3 Series takes inspiration from the new 8 Series sporting the larger kidney grilles, LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, while BMW will offer laser lights as optional. Moreover, the BMW's Hofmeister kink design cue makes it on the new 3 as well but is now a part of the C-pillar instead of the door. Another interesting feature is self-levelling hub caps on the wheels, much like Rolls-Royce cars. At the rear, the car gets new wraparound taillights similar to the new 5 Series that add to a wider appearance on the sedan.
2019 BMW 3 Series Powertrain Options
The Powertrain options on the 2019 BMW 3 Series will include the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel mills. They all will come paired with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. India will get the rear-wheel-drive version of the sedan, while BMW also retails the xDrive all-wheel-drive version globally. The car continues to get a driver-oriented set-up with 50:50 weight distribution and the suspension spring rates have increased by 20 per cent for a more feedback rich handling experience. That's pretty great.
Features and Interior of the New 2019 BMW 3 Series
The cabin of this car now gets an all-digital instrument console with a HUD, memory seats, electric sunroof, keyless entry, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and BMW's Intelligent Personal Assistant(The most amazing thing). The new cabin is also more practical in terms of space management and offers 11 mm of legroom as well as improved head and shoulder room at the rear. An additional 36 litres of space is available across the cabin as well and the boot capacity has been increased to 481 litres. The 7thGen BMW 3 Series follows a familiar design language as other models in its stable with the cabin finished in the best of materials. I think that this car is worth its price. Talking about the price, let's get to know more about the price of this car.
The floating touchscreen is combined with an all-digital instrument cluster, while there are buttons stacked on the centre console. Also the new user interface comes with BMW Assistant and BMW Operating System 7.0, which is just like the Mercedes’ MBUX, offers AI-based interactive communication between the vehicle and driver. There are driver assistance programmes as well which are trickled down from its elder siblings. Moreover, many new features are expected to come in this car.

2019 BMW 3 Series vs 2019 Mercedes CLA-35 AMG
The GLC coupe is basically a Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV with a lower profile roofline. Its updates include a new front grille, taillights, rear fascia, as well as a tweaked 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will produce 255 horsepower. That’s great!
But the CLA AMG 35 is faster and more exciting version of the entry-level Mercedes CLA coupe.
Its four-cylinder turbocharged engine develops an impressive 305 horsepower, which is routed to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes-AMG says that the CLA 35 is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. It also comes with sport wheels, and a more aggressive-looking hood, front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser.
On the other hand, the 3 series is a compact luxury sedan sporting the larger kidney grilles, LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, while BMW will offer laser lights as optional. Moreover, the BMW's Hofmeister kink design cue makes it on the new 3 as well but is now a part of the C-pillar instead of the door. Another interesting feature is self-levelling hub caps on the wheels, much like Rolls-Royce cars. Read more by NDTV.
